Scott Winant for (“Crawl Space”), Breaking Bad

Vince Gilligan for (“Face Off)”, Breaking Bad

Neil Marshall for (“Blackwater”), Game of Thrones

Michael Cuesta for (“Pilot”), Homeland

Matthew Weiner for (“The Phantom”), Mad Men

AND THE WINNER IS:

NEIL MARSHALL FOR ("BLACKWATER"), GAME OF THRONES

Last Year’s Winner: Martin Scorsese for (“Boardwalk Empire”), Boardwalk Empire

This is the fIrst win for Neil Marshall on his first nomination for his work on Game of Thrones.

Blackwater was such an event this season of Game of Thrones with Neil Marshall directing the episode being one of the best parts of the episode. The direction was tense throughout as we saw how on the battlefront the camera would have some great cuts back and fourth and then to the women of King’s Landing just scared of doom and each part of the episode was well directed alone and especially together which is why Marshall wins this award.
