OUTSTANDING SOUND FOR A SERIES, MINISERIES OR TELEVISION MOVIE

Breaking Bad (“Face Off”)

Game of Thrones (“Blackwater)

Homeland (“Marine One”)

Smash (“Pilot”)

Sherlock A Scandal in Belgravia

AND THE WINNER IS:

GAME OF THRONES ("BLACKWATER")

Last Year’s Winner: Game of Thrones

This is the second win for the sound department of Game of Thrones on their second nomination.

Just as the visual effects were impressive the sound for the show was also great this season with the ninth episode event “Blackwater” showing how great sound design can be for a show. The episode was very much an impressive feat with much fighting occuring and also some impressive sounds coming from the background adding to the scale of the whole battle. The sound really heightened the drama of the whole episode.
