OUTSTANDING DIRECTING FOR A MINISERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION

Bradley Buecker for (“Murder House”), American Horror Story

Jay Roach for Game Change

Kevin Reynolds for Hatfields & McCoys

Jamie Payne for (“Episode 6”), The Hour

Paul McGuigan for Sherlock A Scandal in Belgravia

AND THE WINNER IS:

JAY ROACH FOR GAME CHANGE

Last Year’s Winner: Todd Haynes for Mildred Pierce

This is the first win for Jay Roach on his second nomination for his work on Game Change.

Game Change was much better then I expected and while the writing of the movie was the best the directing I feel was very impactful for the movie. Jay Roach is the director and in this movie is able to get both great comedy and drama out of the story and is able to go close on actors and allow their emotions to go and it helps in the story telling. This direction by Roach helps to show how he is improving as a director for me.
