This is the first win for Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman on their sixth nomination for her work on Smash.

The music collaboration of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman have been creating some great and catching music for at least a decade now and with their work on Smash season 1 they have created some great and memorable songs. The two wrote many songs but my favourite for the whole season was “Don’t Forget Me” the final song of the season which summed up all the great and problematic parts of the season. The song is a finally realised live on stage unlike many other songs and it feels quite epic in how it is purely song and finishes the season.
