OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A MINISERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION

Tom Berenger as Jim Vance in “HATFIELDS & MCCOYS”

Martin Freeman as Dr. John Watson in “SHERLOCK: A SCANDAL IN BALGRAVIA”

Ed Harris as John McCain in “GAME CHANGE”

Peter MacNicol Rick Davis in “GAME CHANGE”

Evan Peters as Tate Langdon in “AMERICAN HORROR STORY”

AND THE WINNER IS:

ED HARRIS AS JOHN MCCAIN IN "GAME CHANGE"

Last Year’s Winner: Brian F. O’Byrne as Bert Pierce in “MILDRED PIERCE”

This is the first win for Ed Harris on his second nomination for his work in Game Change.

The real life John McCain in the 2008 election was quite a boring person especially to watch which is why when someone like Ed Harris plays the role it is quite an improvement as Harris with his natural acting carisma is able to make even the most boring of characters relatable which is why Harris in playing this role made him one of the standouts of the HBO movie. Harris while not on screen as most as other actors when abset is helped by being a focus but when on screen brings power and strength that make his performance all the greater.
