OUTSTANDING WRITING FOR MINISERIES OR TELEVISION MOVIE

Danny Strong for Game Change

Bill Kerby, Ted Mann & Ronald Parker for Hatfields & McCoys

Abi Morgan for (“Episode 6”), The Hour

David Hare for Page Eight

Steven Moffat for Sherlock A Scandal in Belgravia

AND THE WINNER IS:

DANNY STRONG FOR GAME CHANGE

Last Year’s Winner: Julian Fellows for Downton Abbey

This is the second win for Danny Strong on his second nomination for his work on Game Change.

4 years after their great collaboration with Recount Danny Strong and Jay Roach came back together to film another political HBO film this time about the Sarah Palin/John McCain presidential running. Just as great as the last collaboration was the witty dialogue that comes out of all these characters and this film felt more serious even as a character of Sarah Palin was made more serious by this script. Strong shows how easily a talented actor can go to be a successful screeenwriter.
