OUTSTANDING LEADING ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES

Aziz Ansari as Dev Shah for ("The Dinner Party") in "MASTER OF NONE"
Chris Geere as Jimmy Shive-Overly for (You Knew It Was a Snake") in "YOU'RE THE WORST"
Donald Glover as Earnest "Earn" Marks for ("Go for Broke") in "ATLANTA"
Thomas Hayden Church as Robert Dufresne for ("Pilot") in "DIVORCE"
William H. Macy as Frank Gallagher for ("Own Your Shit") in "SHAMELESS"
Jeffrey Tambor as Maura Pfefferman for ("Elizah") in "TRANSPARENT"

AND THE WINNER IS:

AZIZ ANSARI AS DEV SHAH FOR ("THE DINNER PARTY") IN "MASTER OF NONE"

This is the fourth win for Aziz Ansari. He's won the directing and writing awards this year and previously won as a part of the ensemble of Parks and Recreation (2011). He was nominated for producing Master of None (2016) and in the ensemble of Parks and Recreation (2010, 2012-2013, 2015).

Yet again I've got to give it up to Aziz. He's probably most underrated for his acting work on the series because there's so much more to address in relation to his directing and writing work for the series. I found his acting work in season 2 even stronger than what he produced during the first season. He had a great scene partner for most of the season and when relying on her he was able to completely change my idea of him playing himself. Ansari made Dev Shah into a separate character from the actor. He was both funny and heartfelt in his performance choices that he made throughout the season.
