OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES

Donna Lynne Champlin as Paula Proctor for ("ho Needs Josh When You Have a Girl Group?") in "CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND"
Olivia Colman as Godmother for ("Episode 5") in "FLEABAG"
Kathryn Hahn as Raquel Fein for ("Life Sucks and Then You Die") in "TRANSPARENT"
Judith Light as Shelly Pfeferman for ("Exciting and New") in "TRANSPARENT"
Rita Moreno as Lydia Riera for ("No Mass") in "ONE DAY AT A TIME"
Yvonne Orji as Molly Carter for ("Racist as Fuck") in "INSECURE"

AND THE WINNER IS:

RITA MORENO AS LYDIA RIERA FOR ("NO MASS") IN "ONE DAY AT A TIME"

This is the first win and nomination for Rita Moreno. She wins for her performance as Lydia Riera on the Netflix freshmen series One Day at a Time.

When Lear decided to update his successful 70's series One Day at a Time I was not looking forward to even watch the show. Once word of the show's successful critical reception hit me I sat down and binged the series. The strongest element of the show was living legend Rita Moreno's performance. Rita was a delight of every episode from her first entrance to the series. She had the best lines delivering each with the skill of a hard working veteran. Moreno hasn't had a role in any medium like this for me since her oscar winning turn over 50 years ago. Moreno is a comedy highlight of the show but she also grounds the show with her heartfelt history she brought to the role. It's a performance and show that are sadly under watched.
